# FIX GAME LOAD SPEED

The game has a situation where the shadders can slow the game load.

To fix this u need to doe some stuffs that we have confirm are working:

### How to fix Preparing Shaders in The First Descendant <a href="#h-how-to-fix-preparing-shaders-in-the-first-descendant" id="h-how-to-fix-preparing-shaders-in-the-first-descendant"></a>

If you're experiencing incredible slow load times and the **Preparing Shaders** message in The First Descendant as you swap between areas, this is a fix that we've personally tested and it worked.

The solution to the slow Preparing Shaders load is to Link a Nexon account to your The First Descendant account. For some reason linking a Nexon account solves the Preparing Shaders long load. The solution was first shared by user Ewoke on the [Steam forums](https://steamcommunity.com/app/2074920/discussions/0/4549281724347086650/).

#### 1. Link your Nexon account to fix Preparing Shaders slow loading <a href="#h-1-link-your-nexon-account-to-fix-preparing-shaders-slow-loading" id="h-1-link-your-nexon-account-to-fix-preparing-shaders-slow-loading"></a>

1. Open your Menu in-game and select **Options**
2. Select the **Account** Tab
3. Select **Link** and make or link a Nexon account in-browser
4. Return to the title screen to complete process

GO to Menu -> Options -> Account to link your Nexon account

If this solution does not fix the problem here are some other possible avenues to explore.

#### 2. Update your NVIDIA Graphics drivers <a href="#h-2-update-your-nvidia-graphics-drivers" id="h-2-update-your-nvidia-graphics-drivers"></a>

<figure><img src="https://2541189756-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FcnfJ5yfogNPJvItAVUSZ%2Fuploads%2FCYr30uT8J4cPfNJZuMkk%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=fe14d6d3-bf52-40f7-b6ac-636d30db5309" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Make sure your drivers are up to date if you're encountering a Preparing Shaders error message

Ensuring your NVIDIA or AMD graphics drivers are up-to-date is another potential solution to the Preparing Shaders long loads in The First Descendant. So make sure you hit Check for Updates.

**SECOND SOLUTION**

1. Steam Settings -> Downloads -> Shader PRE-CACHING (Disable this and then re-enable it)
2. Go to the following folder: C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\NVIDIA and then delete the files that are INSIDE the GLCache folder.

**THIRD SOLUTION**

Go to C:\Users\blabla\AppData\Local\M1\Saved\Config\Windows open Engine.ini , add

\[SystemSettings]&#x20;

r.ShaderPipelines=1

r.ShaderPipelineCache.Enabled=0&#x20;

r.D3D.ForceDXC=1
